ASEAN Council of Bureaux (ASEAN COB) was established under Article 11 of Protocol 5 ASEAN Scheme of Compulsory Motor Vehicle Insurance of AFAFGIT. Consisting of a representative from each National Bureau of Member Countries and a representative of the Transit Transport Coordinating Board.
To coordinate and supervise the legal, technical, financial, and administrative operations of the National Bureaux of all ASEAN Member Countries.
To ultimately support the operation of Protocol 5 and accommodate the implementation of the ASEAN Transport Agreements.
ASEAN Compulsory Motor Insurance System (ACMI) a web-based electronics system that facilitates National Bureau of ASEAN Member States to enable cross border compulsory motor vehicle insurance cover of each Member State to be obtained by the vehicle owners/transit transport operators and manages the issuance of Blue Card as provisioned under the Protocol 5.
